The probable cause statement also shows Wiggs told the detective that he had tried to kill his wife two times previously. One happened when the victim was at a rehabilitation facility for her medical issues. He said the victim woke up that time. He also told the detective that he planned to kill his wife another time, but couldn’t because doctors hooked her up to several monitors at the hospital.

Wiggs then said he was depressed and killed his wife because he couldn’t take care of her and couldn’t afford to pay her medical bills, according to the court document.
