East side demands for better communication and more police action after a slew of youngsters were shot is NOT a vendetta . . . It's community leadership. 

However . . .

Our snarky post title acknowledges that there are some politically motivated denizens out there who aren't REALLY motivated by public safety and only seek power.

An astute TKC reader pointed out this week . . .

A great deal of the struggle over local control is nothing more than an effort for KCMO to get their hands on HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS worth of police pension cash that would boost city hall coffers. 

Heck, it might even help us borrow for that downtown baseball stadium. 

Either way . . .

In a very smart, insightful and astute column . . . The sole conservative at the newspaper shares ideas for a middle-ground and real world suggestions for improvement.
