Coming Soon: AI Robots & Foreign Tech Workers Patrol Kansas Schools For Guns?!?

Here's why this is scary that has nothing to do with the singularity . . .

"Amazon used workers in India to label the data that trained its object-recognition AI. They also served as backup reviewers for problem transactions. The AI industry relies heavily on cheap labor, often in developing countries, for data labeling tasks."

Translation . . .

EVEN THE RICHEST COMPANY ON EARTH FAKED AI AND USED LOW-PAID FOREIGN WORKERS FOR SURVEILLANCE . . . SHOULD THAT TYPE OF TECH GO IN SCHOOLS?!?

 As always and in fairness . . . Here's a more optimistic look at the effort . . .

"Kansas could soon offer up to $5 million in grants for schools to outfit surveillance cameras with artificial intelligence systems that can spot people carrying guns. But the governor needs to approve the expenditures and the schools must meet some very specific criteria."
