Car Crime Wave Hits Lee's Summit

An otherwise peaceful community confronts and EPIC spike in automotive theft.

Here's the damage . . .

At Rain Tree Lake, residents are on edge after seven cars were stolen and several were broken into this week.

The Lee's Summit Police Department says a group came through earlier this week, many driving stolen cars. They dumped those cars that were out of gas and stole more cars in this neighborhood.

According to police, a total of seven cars were stolen here or stolen and abandoned here.
