Agree or disagree . . . There's very little doubt this power move is mostly about changing the rules in hopes that voters don't overturn Missouri abortion crackdown . . . A move that's underway in November.
Still . . .
Even by this threshold and given the weed boom in Missouri . . . We still think that SOME popular progressive measures might still win.
Here's a closer look at the effort . . .
Currently, a simple majority of votes is needed to pass a proposed constitutional amendment once it makes it onto the ballot. The proposed resolution would increase that threshold to both a simple majority of votes and the majority of Missouri’s eight congressional districts — but the bill also includes unrelated "ballot candy."
