Midtown Kansas City Collab Keeps Suspect Creeper Off Streets

Call this important Friday follow-up on a story that ended with intervention rather than tragedy.

Last week we blogged about a groundswell of Midtown concern over a dude that garnered infamy for harassing women.

Thankfully, local elected officials and authorities were paying attention and stepped in before anything WORSE happened.

Jackson County Legislator Manny Abarca offers the most behind the scenes detail:

"I want to send a special thanks to the actions of many. Through the advocacy of many neighbors in Volker, Roanoke and Valentine neighborhoods, Jackson County Prosecutor's Office team members announced, at the Volker Neighborhood Association meeting, that they were charging an individual who has plagued many within the midtown neighborhoods.

"Sadly, this individual has been harassing several women and neighbors for far too long and is in need of immediate behavioral health services. Through the creativity of Jean’s Prosecutorial team, they found a balanced solution to get this individual the help he needs and the relief neighbors welcome.

"Special thanks for the collaborative efforts of Councilman Eric Bunch-4th In District Kansas City and Councilman Crispin Rea Jr. as through collective advocacy we are getting neighbors relief and the offender the health they need. Equally supportive and engaged was Major Tim Hernandez and his team with Kansas City Missouri Police Department."
