Kansas City 'Zero Fare' FAIL: Bus Deficit Hits 22 MILLION Bucks

And so an unsustainable plan hatched by Mayor Quinton Lucas & Council Dude Eric Bunch is now confronting horrific financial implications along with protest outcry.

Beyond the echo-chamber . . . Here's is what voters should understand about free Kansas City bus rides enacted by Mayor & Council during the pandemic . . .

SO-CALLED "ZERO-FAIR" FAILED AS RIDERS & DRIVERS DEMAND BETTER SAFETY AND DEFICIT SPENDING FOR FREE RIDES HITS EPIC PROPORTIONS!!!

Sadly . . .

Local environmentalist protesters will quickly dismiss concerns from the public about public safety and driver complaints about working conditions.

Discussions hit critical mass when drivers wanted to get their point across and started talking about the homeless "stench" that has inundated many buses.

That'll probably be unbearable during the hottest Summer months.

Nevertheless . . .

Pay-for-play protesters continue their advocacy and recently sent out this frustrated blast which only serves to highlight the bad economics of the effort . . . Here's the quote, highlight and more info . . .

"This budget leaves KCMO’s bus system underfunded by $22 million(!!), which leaves bus riders poised to experience deep cuts to bus service beginning in January 2025 according to KCATA officials.

"In adopting this budget, KCMO City Council chose to ignore the voices of bus riders, who provided 50+ in-person testimonies, hundreds of emails, and over 1000 signatures on a petition calling for better buses. With this budget, KCMO City Council shows complete apathy for the role that young people and bus riders have in shaping our City’s priorities in this budgeting process."
