Kansas City Police Standoff Aftermath

Here's the overnight report from KCPD regarding a tense situation that, thankfully, was resolved without anybody getting hurt.

Just a bit of good news to start Friday and a sign that Kansas City po-po are far more patient than constant critics would like to admit.

Here's the word:

Operation 100 8100 blk of E 91 ter

Last night, at around 9:30 PM police officers were dispatched to a residence in the 8100 block of east 91st terrace on a reported disturbance. When officers arrived they contacted the victim by telephone. The victim indicated she could not leave the residence on her own accord. When officers went to make contact at the front door an adult male subject threatened to shoot officers.

Officers backed away and surrounded the residence. An operation 100 was called. Additional resources including tactical officers and negotiators responded to the scene to bring the situation to a peaceful resolution.

As negotiations commenced the adult female victim, and two juveniles were able to leave the residence. As the male subject remained negotiators worked to deescalate and get him to come out of the residence.

This morning around 1:40 AM the subject exited the residence peacefully. The subject was placed into custody pending further investigation.

There were no injuries reported to anyone involved.
