Kansas City Mayor Q Offers NYC Migrant Open Invite Walk Back?!?

Social media debate isn't working for Mayor Q after a recent quote sparked opposition from elected officials across Missouri. 

It seems that newspaper support also isn't helping Mayor Q.

Here's a peek at two local stations helping the city hall honcho add more "context" to comments that did significant harm to the Mayor's image, political future and popularity . . . Check-it:

“What we’re saying is if you’ve gone through that work permit, you’ve worked with the Department of Homeland Security, and you are lawfully present here in the United States, then you know what, we want to welcome you,” Mayor Quinton Lucas said on X. “We want to make sure there’s a way to find work in our community.”

Opponents argue the mayor’s idea is illegal.

Lucas has repeatedly used the word "migrant" to describe the people he’s interested in bringing to Kansas City.

A migrant is someone who moves locations in search of work.

“Any time you mention migration or migrants, you see issues — and I’ve seen videos of people coming across the southern border — that is not what I’m talking about or what Kansas City is talking about,” Lucas told KSHB 41 News last week. “What we are talking about is those who are lawfully present here having an opportunity to work, having an opportunity to be part of our community.”
