The start of Spring/Summer 2024 continues along a deadly pace as this year's homicide count is quickly catching up to last year's record breaking toll.
This latest tragedy involves the shooting death of a young lady; this is the 2nd female killed so far this week. Police reveal that the victim in this circumstance was a girl who was the victim in a shooting incident that's still under investigation.
KCMO now is less than 10 murders behind last year's count.

Homicide 3300 block of Flora
Tonight just after 9:45pm officers were dispatched to the 3300 block of Flora on a sound of shots call.
While officers were on the way the call was upgraded to a shooting with a victim inside a residence in the 3300 block of Flora.
On arrival officers were led inside a residence where they located a female shooting victim unresponsive.
Officers rendered aid and called for EMS who responded and took over treatment of the victim.
EMS transported the victim to the hospital where she was declared deceased a short time later.
The victim is believed to be a juvenile over the age of 10.
Detectives are talking with people who were at the scene when officers arrived and canvassing for witnesses. Crime scene investigators are processing the scene for evidence to hopefully give detectives an idea of what led up to the shooting.
