Kansas City 2024 Homicide #44: Deadly Double Shooting Overnight

Here's the aftermath of late night gunfire as this year's homicide count continues to tick upward . . .

Homicide 11800 blk of NW Plaza Circle

On 04/22/24 at around 11:19 PM officers were dispatched to a hotel in the 11800 block of NW Plaza Circle on a reported shooting.

Upon arrival officers were directed inside the hotel. They located an adult male victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. EMS responded and declared the victim deceased.

Officers located a second adult male victim, also suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. EMS transported him to a local hospital in critical condition.

This is being investigated as a homicide. A subject of interest was taken into custody, pending further investigation.

Detectives and crime scene are gathering information to determine what led up to the incident.

We are committed to assisting victims of violent crimes through use of Missouri’s Protection Program for Victims/Witnesses of Violent Crime. Funding for temporary, or even permanent relocation, may be available but is subject to pre-approval by the State’s administering agency.

We are working with Partners for Peace in all our homicide investigations to monitor risks for retaliation and provide social services to affected residents.

Man dead, another hurt in shooting at hotel near KCI

Kansas City police took someone in for questioning after they found one man dead and another hurt in a shooting at a hotel near KCI.

KCPD: Body found inside northland hotel

On April 22 just before 11:30 p.m., police rushed to calls of a shooting inside a hotel near KCI at 118th NW Plaza Circle.
