Fundamentals: Kansas City Forgets That Women's Soccer Is Boring?!?

Call it the "feet of clay" principal or whatever . . . 

The point here is simple . . .

It's fair to be skeptical about grandiose schemes from Port KC given that their last major partner was highlighted in a reported federal investigation.

Sure . . .

A European soccer village on a flood plain sounds great . . . But the main draw is fake sport that only garnered popular in the States so that companies could sell juice boxes to suburbanite youngsters. 

Any American who claims that watching a 1-0 game is fun is either lying or he's one of those time travelers camping out after the future apocalypse . . . Which is easier to believe than anybody promoting this taxpayer funded development scheme . . .

The project is the first phase of a 10-year development plan that is expected to include more than 1,000 apartments, 210,000 square feet of office space and 53,000 square feet of retail covering 10.7 acres when fully built out.

“It’s the first step in changing the mindset of Kansas Citians in bringing activity even closer to the water,” said Mukul Sherman, of Palmer Square Capital Management, at a meeting of the Port KC board Monday.

“We view from a design perspective this project to be pedestrian scale, to be really a European village right here in Kansas City.”
