Feds Investigate STL 'Lux Living' Amid Kansas City Building Boom

Kansas City amateur urban planners endured a scare this week and it has been unnoticed by most taxpayers. 

To wit . . . 

STL DEVELOPERS 'LUX LIVING' REPORTEDLY NOW UNDER FEDERAL INVESTIGATION AMID MULTIPLE KANSAS CITY TAXPAYER FUNDED UPSCALE HOUSING DEALS!!!

Our least favorite project is a skyscraper that plans to ruin the KCMO skyline but has enjoyed cheers from amateur urban planners. 

We don't really care about all the sketchy things they're doing down by the river because so much of the irrational exuberance put forth by Port KC seems like a house of cards predicated on cheap money and hope.

For now . . . Here's the basics of a report this week and some background info . . .

"We’ve now learned that federal authorities subpoenaed the St. Louis development corporation for records related to the company.

"Lux Living is working on four different development projects in Kansas City."

Previously . . . There have been LEGIT QUESTIONS about Lux Living's record . . . 

"Asked about these apparent discrepancies in the ethics disclosure, Port Authority president and chief executive Jon Stephens instead lauded Lux Living for being “incredibly open, transparent, proactive in sharing information.”

"He declined to comment on specific questions about Lux Living’s recent litigation history."We're continuing to move forward based on all the positives, but we're not naive to making sure we know the full picture and full story before we move forward," Stephens said.

"Stephens said if there is a "clear ethical violation," Port KC's board will seek clarification on the issue.

"Others voiced their concerns with Lux Living."
