Let's get this out of the way in case there was any doubt . . .
KANSAS CITY ROYALS WILL NOT STAY IN JACKSON COUNTY AFTER SUFFERING AN EPIC SLAP IN THE FACE FROM ACTIVISTS, POLITICOS & VOTERS!!!
Anybody claiming the home team is going "back to the drawing board" is lying.
Allow us to explain . . .
The blowout defeat clearly demonstrates that the team doesn't have support from the electorate and most local politicos opposed their efforts or remained woefully silent.
It's a big town and a big country.
The hope and expectation is the that team will return to NKC designs or take a look at the Kansas side of the metro.
That's an optimistic outlook that we hope gains traction.
In fact . . .
Nashville holds far more economic potential for the Kansas City Royals than the Sunflower State.
Critics of question 1 claimed that a local ownership stake prevented as much . . . But they don't really know how rich people work.
Nice tickets to a baseball game only hold so much attraction for the cowtown elite . . . The election showed us that Jackson County doesn't have a great deal of affinity for the team and therefore the interest in local owners has already suffered a downgrade.
If you had the cash, would you invest in a losing team that NOBODY seems to like???
Even better/worse . . .
Cashing out at a hefty profit for a Nashville purchase probably appeals to quite a few local high rollers.
Big picture . . .
The Royals would be stupid to attempt another ballot issue after this crushing defeat and doing as much would hurt the value of their franchise.
There will always be opposition and activists to overcome -- The big picture from this vote is that the KC urban electorate does not agree with the vision for the future offered by the Royals.
Either way . . . This isn't a threat, it's a promise . . .
THIS ELECTION CHASED THE ROYALS OUT OF JACKSON COUNTY & PRO SPORTS DREAMS FOR DOWNTOWN KANSAS CITY HAVE BEEN DESTROYED AFTER TWO DECADES OF PROMISES!!!
Consider . . .
Which way do you think downtown "momentum" is moving now???
Again . . .
Optimists are even been so bold to suggest that KC might get another MLB franchise in much the same way that this town has promised a pro-basketball or hockey team for two decades to no avail.
Developing . . .
