During that meeting, we discussed the $963,000 I was able to secure for additional automated license plate readers and how this technology will help improve traffic safety and support efforts to cut down on crime in Kansas City and Independence. Moreover, we talked about the importance of funding federal programs that invest in local departments like KCPD and IPD, their work to combat the fentanyl crisis, and the need to implement gun safety laws that will protect our communities and local law enforcement alike.
