Brian Platt Reveals Super Secret Plan To Keep Kansas City Royals

A couple things that casual Kansas City news readers might not remember for #TBT . . .

- Currently, there's a petition by Black leaders to cancel the guy's contract.

And then . . .

 - This local news quote is probably also worth remembering . . . "Chris Hernandez, the former KCMO communications director, said the issues between him and Platt started on Jan. 3, 2022, during a meeting to discuss communications priorities for the upcoming year. During a discussion about how to handle local media, Hernandez alleges that Platt asked, 'Why can’t we just lie to the media?'"

Still . . .

BY ALL MEANS . . . FEEL FREE TO BELIEVE PROMISES WITHOUT ANY DEETS FROM CITY HALL!!!

Sure, his comments don't have as much info as a random tweet but that shouldn't dissuade more hopeful souls from adherence to persistent superstitions about municipal loyalty.

In fact . . . Exec Frank White is already firing back . . .

Just remember that this bureaucrat is closely tied to termed out Mayor Q — A largely rebuked politico who seems to be more focused on his upcoming D.C. adventures . . .

“Can’t say at this point if there is going to be a vote at all and if there was going to be a vote when it would be. The focus right now is to make sure that we have the right plan and that the right people are engaged,” Platt said.

The city manager then indicated that city leaders are already in talks with both teams saying they will step up to lead the process, instead of the county.

“We were largely on the sidelines, on the city side of this and we are going to take a much more active and proactive role in making sure whatever comes next that we are a big part of it,” Platt said.
