Show-Me More Deets On 'Social Transition' Crackdown Targeting Teachers

We blogged this news yesterday but since then there has been push back from across the state.

Our main problem is that the proposal is sloppy and doesn't define EXACTLY what would constitute a felony crime by a teacher . . . Even worse . . . The legislation might open up nearly every teacher to criminal liability if a parent complains loudly enough over an "offense" open to a great deal of interpretation.

Here's another quote amid continued outrage . . .

"Teachers found guilty of “supporting social transition” would be placed in the same sex offender registration category as Tier 1 sex offenders, which is Missouri’s lowest level but includes possession of child p*rn or attempting a sexual act. And since no Missouri sex offender is permitted to be within 500 feet of a school or daycare, the bill would effectively end the teacher’s career."
