Show-Me Mass Deportation Empty Promise From Missouri Politicos

There's no denying that this tough talk plays VERY WELL for voters in GOP dominated elections.

Cruel reality: Anti-Immigration sentiments aren't really "controversial" inasmuch as we're living in an era of outrage politics.

Here's the rub . . .

MASS ROUNDUP DEPORTATIONS ARE NEVER GONNA HAPPEN AND MIGRANT ROUNDUPS ARE AN EMPTY PROMISE PLAYING UPON OFTEN LEGIT FRUSTRATIONS!!!

In fact . . .

A great deal of immigration law takes place at the federal level and state officials have limited enforcement power . . . Also, there's a question of priorities and practicality of police hunting for people without papers when local law enforcement already confronts staffing challenges . . . Hint: It also might not be possible for politicos to "drive the busses" to deport so many Asian, African & Middle-Eastern undocumented/illegal immigrants.

Even our conservative-leaning friends remember that "build the wall" was a great rallying cry but ultimately Prez Trump FAILED at the border in a very significant way that has only been eclipsed by the outright chaos under Prez Biden.

Nevertheless . . .

Here's the pitch to Republican Missouri voters who at least enjoy political entertainment and probably understand these guys are blowing smoke in an attempt to trump one another . . .

That means mobilizing sheriffs, the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the National Guard, Eigel told a crowd of about 175 party faithful at the Boone County Lincoln Days event in Columbia.

“I’m also the only candidate for governor that’s gonna go after every one of the 50,000 to 70,000 illegal immigrants that are bringing crime into our community,” Eigel said, later adding: “And if I have to drive the buses myself to the border of this country, we’re going to take our state back, folks.”

Ashcroft said he, too, would declare the influx of immigrants an invasion.
