Missouri GOP Against Kansas City 'Income Discrimination Ban' Housing Hot Mess

Earlier this year Mayor Q & Council passed "Source Of Income" legislation that mandated a ban against metrics used by landlords.

And now . . .

The partisan game of cat & mouse persists with the response legislation downplayed by local media but CLEARLY pushing back against progressive housing policy.

Check-it . . .

"The legislation passed in a 103-33 vote in the state house that would give landlords the power to deny tenants because of government assistance."

"It’s called House Bill 2385. If it passes, it will prevent local governments from banning landlords from refusing to lease or rent to someone if they are using federal vouchers, which includes Section 8.

"It would also give private property owners the power to use credit scores, evictions and request criminal records during the application process."
