Mayor Q Needs Plan To Keep Kansas City Chiefs If Question 1 FAILS

Kansas City Mayor Q has been keeping a low profile as of late . . .

As Exec Frank White wages his war against local professional sports across the street . . . KC's activist Mayor might be polishing up his resume and planning other election year stunts to boost his rep in the nation's capital.

However . . .

Insiders aren't giving him a pass in the event of local disaster that some can see on the horizon.

Here's the word from "concerned" parties . . .

MAYOR Q MUST STEP OUT OF THE SHADOWS AND GET READY TO PLEAD WITH KANSAS CITY CHIEFS IF/WHEN QUESTION EARNS REBUKE!!!

A bit of reasoning behind this local worry . . .

Only an imbecile would want to send back-to-back Super Bowl champs packing.

The team is at the zenith of their popularity and power unseen in franchise history. Fans are correct to have doubts about the Royals after losing 106 games last season . . . But the Chiefs are a team worth BILLIONS in opportunity, branding and securing a place on the global stage . . . Yes, they're way more important than the World Cup in terms of the world's largest economy.

And so, here's a note sent our way that deserves a moment of consideration . . .

"The polling this week has been 'inconclusive' at best and it's time for SOMEBODY to step up and show some leadership. If Mayor Q allows both the Chiefs & Royals to leave Kansas City . . . He might go down as the worst elected official we've ever endured.

"Sure, he doesn't have a lot of influence on the legislative side of this argument. BUT, he has the biggest microphone in KC and so far his silence is speaking volumes.

"If Question 1 loses . . . Mayor Q needs to be out there front and center ready to do WHATEVER it takes to keep the Kansas City Chiefs in town. Anything less would be a dereliction of duty and yet another sign that he doesn't really care about his constituents."

I'm sure the Mayor will appreciate the suggestion.

Moreover . . .

Here's a few ideas to KEEP THE CHIEFS in the face of Question 1 smackdown . . .

- Replace the Lincoln Statue at City Hall with another tribute to Lamar Hunt.

- Troost Ave. Renamed Gracie Blvd.

- 20% discount on Plaza purchase and name change to Country Club Clark.

Those are just a few ideas and we're certain our www.TonysKansasCity.com reader can do better . . .
