An urban housing scheme has a glorious history that ultimately amounted to just another FAILED project.

On the bright side . . . It seems that the feds will soon start again and the entire is now getting familiar with lower income housing rules & regs . . .

"The proposal would demolish existing Parade Park Homes buildings and relocate their remaining residents over three phases between 2025 and 2030. Current residents would be prioritized for new units. About one-third, or 166 of Parade Park Homes' 510 existing units, had active leases as of November.

"According to a city release, HUD's chosen property manager Leumas Residential LLC transferred oversight for Parade Park Homes to Flaherty & Collins, which planned to talk with residents and set up new leases. HUD authorized tenant protection vouchers through the Housing Authority of Kansas City for current eligible residents, starting Tuesday. Non-eligible residents "will be eligible for an affordable unit after redevelopment," according to the release."

Kansas City, Missouri, purchased the historic Parade Park Homes complex in a foreclosure sale on Monday, Mayor Quinton Lucas announced.
