Kansas City Homicide Crisis: Gun Problem Or Crime Problem?!?

Recently, high-profile homicides have sparked a partisan debate wherein local combatants are taking shots in differing directions.

Conservatives criticize worsening crime and so many criminals seemingly unafraid of consequences whilst progressives protest local gun rights and demand more restrictions.

Of course there hasn't been much progress on either front.

And this leads us to our main question for Sunday . . .

IS KANSAS CITY SUFFERING A GUN CRISIS OR CRIME CRISIS?!? SADLY IT SEEMS THAT BOTH SIDES OF THIS ISSUE DON'T WANT TO EXAMINE THEIR OWN CULPABILITY!!!

Don't worry . . .

We're not trying to be centrist on this one . . .

Here are TKC we understand that the vast majority of law-abiding gun owners pose absolutely no public safety threat. Gun laws targeting urban areas mostly serve to disarm the populace and make them even more vulnerable to criminals AND there are already a great deal of gun laws on the books that we might want to enforce more strictly before we start talking about new ones.

This is probably our main question . . .

WHY WOULD CRIMINALS OBEY NEW GUN LAWS WHEN SO MANY VIOLENT OFFENDERS BREAK EXISTING GUN LAWS?!?

The implicit and unspoken answer is that the goal of many anti-gun advocates is to disarm EVERYONE . . . And that effort is probably Unconstitutional and DEFINITELY extremely unpopular . . . Especially in statewide Missouri & Kansas elections.

Still . . . As the warmer weather starts . . . We merely wanted to share some of our questions and invite more perspectives given that the quotient of local gunfire seems to be spiking again.
