Kansas City Budget Kicks 5 MILLION BUCKS To World Cup 2026

A nice chunk of change from 12th & Oak begins municipal funding for global soccer accommodations in our cowtown. 

To be certain . . . The spending won't stop at 5 million BUT merely confirms this Kansas City's commitment to one of the sketchiest sporting organizations in the world.

Here's the damage . . .

"All avenues of the city are seeing funds including Kansas City Police, other public safety entities, infrastructure and accessibility, housing & healthy communities, finance & government, and growth & development.

"It’s also helping prepare KC for the 2026 FIFA World Cup . . . The council budgeted $5 million for the World Cup in the upcoming budget year."

KC passes $2.3B budget; $5M for FIFA World Cup 2026

The 2024-25 fiscal year budget for Kansas City has been set at $2.3 billion. It's the largest budget passed by KCMO City Council in KC history.
