Kansas City 2024 Homicide #26: Double Shooting Proves Deadly

Another cowtown argument spirals out of control and leads to fatal gunfire.

Homicide 3600 blk of Mersington

This afternoon just after 3:15 PM officers were dispatched to the 3600 block of Mersington on a reported shooting.

Upon arrival they located an adult male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Officers performed life saving measures and summoned EMS to the scene. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

While officers were on scene an additional adult male victim responded to a local hospital by private conveyance suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.  His injuries are considered non life threatening.

Detectives are trying to determine what led up to the shooting. Preliminary investigation revealed the incident possibly stemmed from an argument.

Detectives are canvassing for witnesses and crime scene investigators are processing the scene for evidence to try to give detectives more information.
