Jackson County Insiders Fighting For 'Biggest F*cking CBA' In Nation

It's amazing that we have so many journalists working in Kansas City but so little news.

As always, our TKC blog community hopes to do our part and pitch in where corporate media and political donors have failed us.

To wit . . . 

BEHIND THE SCENES: JACKSON COUNTY INSIDERS PRESSURE ROYALS & CHIEFS TO FUND AN EPIC COMMUNITY BENEFITS AGREEMENT!!! HOPEFULLY BIGGER & BETTER THAN ANY OTHER CITY IN THE NATION!!!

Again, here's an off-record note and more perspective, reporting and AWESOME sent our way from a participant in the ongoing negations.

"If this thing does pass I want it to be the largest f*cking CBA in the country. If it doesn’t then . . ."

That's an important and hopeful sentiment but here's why it is critical to conversations about the upcoming vote: 

The "biggest CBA" in the nation offers incentive to the urban electorate and their voting bloc will likely determine the outcome of this election. 

Don't get it twisted . . . TKC doesn't make endorsements . . . We just know how local politics works and we honestly don't care which way this thing turns out. 

But here's the REAL debate that local news outlets don't want to cover: 

If an EPIC CBA satisfies enough "urban leaders" than the promise of a hefty payout threatens to trump so many middle-class white people complaining about their taxes and/or Crossroads hipster renters crying over having having to find a new place to enjoy avocado toast. 

In the end, as with all things, the decision on the Jackson County sales tax extension and the downtown stadium is just the public confronting the eternal struggle betwixt fear & greed.
