A big part of the Question 1 debate is the ongoing political grudge match betwixt Legislators Manny Abarca vs. Megan Marshall. 

Like it or not . . . 

Legislator Abarca has worked tirelessly on community forums, negotiating the CBA and reaching out to labor unions on this issue. 

Meanwhile . . .

Legislator Marshall has helped to advance the cause of "no votes" and her main squeeze is helping to run the opposition campaign . . . Even if his role was diminished after online gossip starting ramping up and so many of his old school enemies in Lee's Summit trolled him over longstanding beef.

Now . . .

Win or lose . . . The upcoming vote might not settle this debate that's spilling over into public testimony and legislative meetings but we think the rivalry is one of the under-reported stories that (most voters don't realize) helped to shape the Question 1 narrative reported by mainstream news.
