"KCPD said Missouri State Troopers had been chasing a Jeep SUV that refused to stop for a traffic violation around 2:00 a.m. Monday.
"According to MSHP, a trooper initiated a traffic stop for speeding and having no headlights on near southbound Interstate 35 and 16th Avenue in North Kansas City . . .
"While the Jeep was speeding on westbound 33rd Street, it crashed into two telephone poles and a large tree at Indiana Avenue near Central High School."
