Consider . . .
Despite a resounding defeat in his recent run for mayor, Clay Chastain garnered 8,000 Kansas City votes and many of those came from inside the county . . . Accordingly . . . His statement on the upcoming election is important and probably carries more significance than so many social media posts.
Here's the word . . .
Mayoral candidate Clay Chastain commends to the Kansas City voters that they ignore KC's former Mayors and instead join him (a 3-time losing Mayoral candidate) in voting No on the 40-year, 3/8-cent regressive Stadium Sales Tax because it is not for the greater good.
While... Attorney / former Mayor Sly James shills for the ambitions of the wealthy; while former Mayor / Pastor / Congressman Cleaver supports further lining the pockets of the wealthy; while former Sex therapist / Mayor Barnes pushes the creation of another failed (& taxpayer-supported) entertainment district for the wealthy and while the leader of our City (Attorney / Mayor Lucas) cowardly sits on the fence in behalf of the wealthy, KC Activist Clay Chastain implores voters to cast an emphatic No Vote to save our City from those who seek to exploit it and turn it into Carnival City for tourists.
To all the voters who cast a vote for me in the last mayoral election, and to all those who would have voted for me if they had cast a vote in the last Mayoral election (nearly 90% of registered voters did not vote) I implore you to vote No on the Stadium Tax because it is not in the best interest of the everyday citizen of Kansas City. Think of it like this...Ask not what you can do for billionaires, ask what you can do for those in need in Kansas City. And what you can do on April 2nd, is send this sorry proposal packing by Voting NO!
Kansas City Activist, Clay Chastain
