This week we notice the national conservative paper of record taking Republicans to task for embracing Taylor Swift conspiracies . . .

The “paranoia on the right about a romance between the most popular singer in the world and an NFL player does make Republicans seem, frankly, weird,” wrote the newspaper’s conservative editorial board.

“A question, though, for the trolls: If they believe defeating Mr. Trump is so easy that Mr. Biden can do it merely by getting an endorsement from a singer who backed him in 2020, doesn’t that suggest the GOP might be making a mistake by nominating such a weak candidate?” it asked.

Another opinion from Vox with a pop culture & demographic spin: 

"These theories are a recent manifestation of an emerging conservative backlash and obsession with Swift fueled in part by political views she’s expressed, but more broadly by fear and misogyny in the right-wing manosphere. They mark the latest example of conservatives going after a female star they perceive as a threat, and they underscore how frustrated Republicans are that Swift — and many of the young women who make up her fan base — aren’t on their side."
