Short-Term Rentals Stay Losing In Shawnee

Tonight we take a quick peek at the neighborhood tech crackdown in the Golden Ghetto thanks to the work of suburbanites who don't fancy living in a hotel district.

Here are the basics of the decision . . .

"After several minutes of discussion, the City Council ended up passing an ordinance outlining new rules for short-term rentals in the city, including requiring licenses, prohibiting the property from being used as a reception or party space, and requiring an agent or person managing the property to be within a 40-mile radius.

"A spokesperson for the city said these changes will take effect in a few days once the final language of the rules is published.

"Some resident feel like it’s not enough."
