After triumphant praise for Mayor Q following his state of the city address . . . Locals diving deeper into the budget come away with this not-so-fun fact . . . From former council dude John Sharp:
"While significantly increasing the department’s overall budget primarily due to salary increases, the submitted budget does not include funding for more officers which impacts police response times."
Now . . . This is important for a lot of reasons but here's the main one:
KCPD CONTINUES TO CONFRONT AN EPIC STAFFING CRISIS AND NEEDS 300 MORE COPS TO GET TO FULL STRENGTH!!
And so . . .
The budget discussion continues as public safety remains a top concern for locals who aren't elected officials.
