Kansas City Youngster On Minibike Dies After Hit & Run

AIS was notified that the juvenile operator of the minibike involved in the collision at 23rd and Chelsea had been pronounced deceased.

Previously . . .

Narrative: AIS responded to meet EPD officers on a reported hit and run injury collision with life threatening injuries. Preliminary investigation revealed that a juvenile was operating a red Serengeti minibike, traveling southbound on Chelsea. The minibike failed to stop for the posted stop sign at 23rd and Chelsea and entered the intersection. The minibike was struck by a white unknown type of van that was traveling westbound on 23rd. The juvenile, who was not wearing a helmet, was ejected from the minibike. The van left the scene, traveling westbound on 23rd without stopping. The juvenile was transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries.
