Kansas City University Repeats Threats To Move Amid Low-Barrier Shelter Crisis

Northeast Kansas City leaders continue their fight against a so-called "homeless warehouse" under consideration.

This week the best reporting on the topic comes from Northeast News as they document an important fact:

The "Low-barrier" Northeast Shelter ADMITTEDLY FAILS TO LIVE UP TO HUD REQUIREMENTS.

But looking forward this argument impacts the future of Northeast Kansas City.

Here's the word from insiders . . .

"Kansas City University is now threatening to move that Campus if the City keeps trashing the area with more homeless."

Longtime www.TonysKansasCity.com readers might remember . . .

This isn't the first time the KCU has expressed disdain with how City Hall is handling homeless issues.

Remember in 2021 Kansas City University President & CEO Marc B. Hahn pleaded with Mayor Q & the City Manager to clean up nearby homeless encampments that posed "an existential threat" to the institution.

Now . . . It seems that tension over the ongoing homeless crisis has reached the boiling point yet again and we expect to hear more from this institution about the issue.

Developing . . .
