Kansas City 'Oven Mom' Back In Court Soon

TKC readers have told us there is need for clarification in the reporting of this story . . .

It's neither the police nor prosecutors who claim that the suspect in this case "accidentally" placed her young daughter in an oven: That was merely her excuse recorded in court dox.

Here's more reporting on upcoming court charges . . . Check-it:

"The Jackson County Prosecutor's Office charged Mariah Thomas with endangering the welfare of a child, resulting in the child's death, on Feb. 10, 2024.

"Officers were called to a home on 41st Street near Forest Ave about a week ago as emergency crews performing life-saving measures on an infant.

"Court records say Thomas accidentally put the baby in the oven instead of the crib. The baby girl was pronounced dead on the scene."
