A few fun facts . . .

KC St. Paddy's is this town's most beloved celebration wherein middle-class white women are FINALLY free to puke on the street without any guilt and we are ASSURED that there will be a fight. Probably more than a few. 

TKC spent a lot of time in Westport as a youngster . . . So we advise locals to leave their superstitions about family fun on this not-so-religious-holiday in the suburbs . . . KC St. Paddy's Day has ALWAYS been a drunken brawl wherein public displays of bewbs and the all day gut fest defines the festivities.

Here's a nicer and more optimistic perspective on the festivities that hopes to provide reassurance:

"It is the official kickoff to the St Patrick's Day parade season,” Vanessa Prewitt, the President of the Kansas City St Patrick's Day Parade, said. “This is where we shake off the cobwebs over the winter and get our dancing shoes on and our party hats ready to celebrate in 21 days."

Coming on the heels of the Kansas City Chiefs victory parade, they're paying extra attention to safety and security.

“We always have the security of our parade goers in mind,” Prewitt said. “We won't only have police presence in front of you, but behind everybody.”

She said there will be volunteers and law enforcement all along the parade route.
