This time around the drug plauge isn't confined to the urban core and extends into rural areas and the suburbs . . . The victims are mostly white and not all of them are victims of poverty.

"Deaths have surged by 700% since 2018, reaching a 195 in 2022 . . . Without treatment, the likelihood of an overdose survivor not being alive in one year is 10%."
