Only EPIC January Cold Proven To Curb Kansas City Homicides

We can all play fun stat games and here's a not so impressive statistic that locals leaders are already trying to tout to the not-so-gullible public.

Compared to last year's historic spate of deadly violence, in January 2024, Kansas City has cut homicides in half so far .

Technically that's true.

There have only been two homicides documented so far this year compared to 4 at this time last year.

But, of course, that's not the whole story . . .

It has been so HISTORICALLY COLD that locals haven't wanted to do much but hide under their blankets.

Thankfully, we haven't seen the typical spike in domestic abuse homicides which often accompany long stretches of cold weather.

Today there will be a brief respite in the bitter cold and temperatures hitting near freezing almost seems like a heat wave.

However . . .

DON'T MISTAKE STATISTICAL GLITCHES FOR PROGRESS IN KANSAS CITY'S FIGHT AGAINST RECORD BREAKING VIOLENCE OVER SEVERAL YEARS!!!

From our vantage . . . There really isn't anything behind this lull in the homicide count beyond the weather.

Of course, as always and eternally . . . Our www.TonysKansasCity.com blog community hopes that Kansas City remains peaceful and people find viable alternatives that avoid deadly violence.

But it's far more likely that this brief respite will be quickly forgotten as warmer weather inevitably returns.

Developing . . .
