Kansas City MSM Completely Unwilling To Blame Mayor Q For Potholes

A tragic fact of life . . . 

DESPITE DEFERRED MAINTENANCE & DEVELOPER FIRST PRIORITIES: MAYOR Q ESCAPES ANY BLAME FOR DANGEROUS STREETS FILLED WITH POTHOLES!!!

To be fair . . . The stakes are a bit lower the local media giving the Mayor a pass amid last year's historic homicide count. 

Still . . . 

Check this bit of editorial tap dancing which seemingly blames street treatment for EPIC KCMO street craters at every turn . . .

"To its credit, Kansas City is using recommendations from the EPA, including the beet juice mixture and calcium chloride, already used sparingly in Kansas City. The latter is safer for the environment but is three times more expensive than other solutions.

"Another alternative is to use less of it, or mixed with sand for traction, combined with proper road clearing before application . . .

"To be sure, these solutions aren’t perfect, and often are more for the environment and less for our tire headaches — but if cities continue to research and create solutions, we’ll reap the benefits.

"In the meantime, AAA advises to reduce your speed in pothole season. It’s not always possible to avoid a pothole, but the faster you hit it, the more damage your car may sustain. Slow down and then release your brakes before you make contact with it. "

Kansas City drivers navigate a metro full of potholes after winter weather swings tear up roads

The city has received 600 reports to 311 about potholes in just the last week. City Manager Brian Platt says city crews can fill hundreds of potholes per week, but weather and poor road conditions mean many more are taking out tires and breaking suspensions.
