Kansas City Country Club Plaza Fancy Fish Place Sinks Into Abyss

This locale on the edge of the Plaza was always kinda fishy . . .

Most people don't remember it but this location was once occupied by a luxury tower designed by a renowned architect . . . And then it had to be torn down.

The upscale seafood spot at 4814 Roanoke Parkway was run by Big Red F Restaurant Group, which has several Jax locations in Colorado.

Jax served caviar, Alaskan king crab, lobster rolls and other menu favorites before it shuttered on New Year’s Eve.

Dave Query, owner of Jax and Big Red F, said he wants to focus on his other restaurants in Colorado.

“To all of our incredible staff we have had in the family for the last ten years, we are so appreciative and honored for all of your hard work and friendship,” Query said in a press release.

Query opened his KC location in 2014. It was his first venture outside Colorado.

A Plaza-area seafood restaurant is heading back to its spawning grounds after a decade in Kansas City.
