Insider: KCFD Handshake Agreement Could've Helped Save Man's Life?!?!

There's a curious line in recent reporting about a local fire.

Here's the reporting . . .

"Aid was requested for Kansas City Fire Department at 0921 hours for additional crews, but none was available at that time. "

An important note send our way tracks and offers additional insight . . .

Off the record . . . Here's another side of the story . . .

"Fox4 reported that a request for aid from the KCFD was denied because no units were available.

"The truth is KCFD assisted with securing a water supply and then were advised by KCFD dispatch that no mutual aid agreement was in place between the two departments and KCFD unit(s) on scene should return to their post(s).  A simple handshake agreement between some chiefs could have brought the right amount of resources to that fire to potentially save that man’s life."

UPDATE . . .

Insiders deny this perspective and send us this worthwhile rebuttal:

"All fire departments in the KC Metro area have mutual aid agreements handling multiple cross parties handling events. All mutual aid agreements can be found at the MARC/MEPC coordinators office. Police departments function in a similar manor."
