Should Kansas City Voters Trust Assurances Claiming Royals & Chiefs Will Stay Put?!?

Let's be practical for a second . . .

These are the same local leaders that have exercised dictatorial control over small local biz during national health emergencies, seem bereft of new ideas when it comes to historic homicide trends AND spend most of their time looking for a better job inside the Beltway.

And so . . .

The most loyal TKC readers have reason to doubt the latest assurances.

Here's a more hopeful quote from the mayor and our 2nd favorite Brit tabloid picking up the story . . .

Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas insisted that he is 90 percent confident that the Chiefs will stay in Kansas City after meeting with team officials in Germany.

'I think we continue to have good paths to keeping (the teams) in Kansas City,' Lucas said in an interview with 610 Sports Radio this week.

'I think the Royals... are committed to moving. I think that looks more and more each day like downtown Kansas City. Everything I've heard from the Chiefs so far... is that they want to make sure they can try to come to a good deal at Arrowhead Stadium. I don't think that's changed, despite whatever frustration may exist in Jackson County leadership and sport team negotiations.'

Kansas City Chiefs 'could LEAVE Arrowhead'
