Kansas City WIR 2023 In Review

A panel jam packed with progressives newsies offers their perspective on this year's news.

SPOILER ALERT . . .

Here are the topics that stood out to us . . . We won't give too much away but we wanted to call attention to it.

- There's now a PUBLIC VOTE OF NO CONFIDENCE in the current KCPD Chief who is otherwise still well-liked throughout most, but not all, of Kansas City.

- All of the newsies lament the dearth of information and lack of transparency regarding the stadiums.

- Credit to Dana Wright who started the conversations off STRONGLY with her analysis of the Jackson County Property Tax hot mess.

- Insider giveaway . . . Nobody outside of press & politics cares about the antics of Visit KC & Kathy Nelson. The chattering class sing her praises but the reality is that most locals don't care about the sausage making behind the scenes even if it yields the World Cup or the NFL Draft.

- This holiday season most locals have decided that New KCI is a massive disappointment and the bait & switch sold to the public is unforgivable . . . Per ushe, city leaders from the higher social strata have ALWAYS had a tough time coming to terms with the consensus of the plebs.

That's our take . . . Here's the promo quote and we look forward to what our blog community has to say about this year end review in order to help craft our own version that's far more fun . . .
