Kansas City Talker Pete Mundo Questions Jackson County Accountability

Local conservatives seem confounded by biz as usual at 12th & Oak even amid the latest lawsuit from the Missouri AG.

Kansas City's top ranking conservative talker asks this question . . .

"When will someone be jailed, or at the very least fired, for such incompetency in Jackson County?????"

County Assessor Gail McCann Beatty is the most logical person to throw under the bus right now. However, Mr. Mundo is correct, there's no sense of urgency to hold her accountable. In fact, there's a "wait & see" attitude setting in amongst the current administration and firing the Assessor closer to election season or if there's more bad news seems to be the current strategy. 

Meanwhile . . . 

We notice that this week's publicity tour to defend the courthouse didn't convince a lot of people.

More to the point: 

THERE'S NOBODY IN KANSAS CITY ADVOCATING HIGHER TAXES!!!

As this year's "use tax" FAIL clearly demonstrated . . . Jackson County voters are tax weary and the latest assessment drama only serves to reinforce this fact of life.
