Kansas City Struggles To Silence Deadly Violence For Two Days

Now underway: The countdown to the end of the year coincides with a tragic/historic number.

As we blogged previously . . .

The murder of an unborn might have already pushed KCMO past a record-breaking threshold.

Still, until we get word from the medical examiner . . . Here is the main question from our www.TonysKansasCity.com blog community:

WILL KANSAS CITY REFRAIN FROM HOMICIDES FOR THE NEXT 48 HOURS?!?

It's certainly possible . . . There have been longer peaceful stretches this year.

However . . . Holiday boozing and close proximity doesn't help our chances.

Accordingly . . . We note a couple of worthwhile local efforts that hope to stall more any more carnage:

'We need to try harder': KCMO homicide count continues to increase, as violent crime declines nationwide

According to new FBI data, violent crime dropped by eight percent in the U.S. But this unfortunately is not the case in Kansas City, Missouri.

On a related note . . . Check more local crime coverage as the entire metro seems to be following KC's lead and becoming increasingly unsafe . . .
