Our punchline in this post is that NOBODY under 40 will think this newspaper reference is important and it's a bit of a reach for those of us who get it . . . But don't see the problem . . .
TKC perspective . . . We see this a lot online when 70-year-olds mention Archie Bunker who hasn't been on TV in 40 years despite an impressive decade-long run in the late 70s & early 80s.
Reference . . . TV was a thing that people watched before everyone abandoned all other forms of entertainment & information in order to spend all day looking at their mobile tracking device disguised as a phone.

“If by some chance an honest man like yourself made enemies they would become my enemies,” Brando-as-Corleone mumbles to a cowering mortician. “And then, they would fear you.”
If there was a “who wore it better?” award for villainous speeches, Brando would obviously take the cake. But the menace of Marshall’s words is clear enough.
