Accordingly . . . A quick 2023 TOP 5 from TKC . . .
5. Taylor Swift made watching the Kansas City Chiefs an incredible drag.
4. A former KC po-po garnered international scorn in an unsuccessful attempt to crack down on a small town newspaper.
3. National media and so many locals granted a youngster's family a crowd-funding lottery win after an accidental shooting committed by an old codger sparked accusations of racism without so much as a peep from the accused assailant.
2. Kansas City political leadership conspired to put a former detective behind bars as he exhausts his appeal and his family lobbies governor for pardon.
1. Historic local murder en mass but no complaints or any significant spike in voter turnout because culture war prevents so many denizens of the cowtown chattering class from disparaging anybody on their team.
That's how we saw this year from a bloggy perspective . . . But here's the word from smarter people . . .
