Kansas City 2023 Homicide #179: Historic Record Matched After Woman Dies

Today is history . . .

ACCORDING TO POLICE STATS, KANSAS CITY NOW TIES AN ALL-TIME RECORD FOR HOMICIDES IN A SINGLE YEAR!!!

A few things to consider . . .

There's still a few days left in the year so we might break the record.

Other than a highlights regarding crime reduction in a single urban neighborhood, the public hasn't embraced any new plan to deal with this ongoing slaughter.

Like it or not . . . Mayor Q's tenure has been the deadliest in Kansas City that has now spanned over two police chiefs and two council terms.

MILLIONS funneled to anti-crime groups last year doesn't seem to have any impact in reducing local violence.

Accordingly, here's the report of recent homicide and more news links after . . .

Homicide 2500 block of Myrtle - LATE DEATH

Last night (12/26) just after 9pm officers were dispatched to the 2500 block of Myrtle on a shooting call.

On arrival officers located indications of a crime scene at a residence there, however they were told by people at the scene an adult female shooting victim was driven away from the scene, en route to the hospital by a family member.

While on the way to the hospital the victim’s family member stopped and called 911 for assistance, officers and EMS responded to that secondary location as well and EMS transported the victim to the hospital for treatment.

Detectives responded to the original scene for investigation and crime scene processing at that time.

Several hours later detectives were notified by the hospital that the victim died from her injuries.

Homicide detectives have taken over the investigation and are working now to gather any information that leads them to any indication about what led up to the shooting and the identification of any suspect(s)

If anyone has any information they are asked to contact Homicide detectives directly at 816-234-5043 or the TIPS Hotline anonymously at 816-474-TIPS. There is a reward of up to $25,000 for information submitted anonymously to the TIPS hotline.
