Capitalism and the free market are exceptionally cruel and there's only so much that politicos can do in order to soften the consequences of their mismanagement.

Mike Sanders was a crook but even he managed property tax assessments better than the current regime.

The reason they're being pushed out -- a new owner. The previous owner said they sold, at least partially, because of the assessments that overwhelmed so many Jackson County property owners this summer.

Every tenant got a letter to vacate Monday, telling them they must move by the end of January.
