And so it seems that Kansas City is now home to a bargain basement quarterback once again.
Credit to some of the most highly skeptical TKC READERS who called this one last year when nobody else understood how the game really works . . .
KANSAS CITY CHIEFS SUCKERED PATRICK MAHOMES FOR CHUMP CHANGE AS BALLER SALARIES SKYROCKET TO SEEMINGLY IMPOSSIBLE HEIGHTS!!!
Here's the damage and yet another glimpse that Kansas City remains a great place for bargain shopping in the grand scheme of things . . . Check-it:
Shohei Ohtani, the transcendent two-way talent who spent the past three years redefining what was possible at his sport's highest level, agreed to a 10-year, $700 million contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers on Saturday, announcing his decision on his Instagram page.
Ohtani's contract is the largest in baseball history by more than $250 million, topping the 12-year, $426.5 million extension given in 2019 to Mike Trout, his now-former teammate with the Los Angeles Angels. It also easily topped the $450 million deal signed by Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes to become the largest in North American professional sports history.
To be fair . . .
Of course we're being snarky about all this . . . What seems like Paddy's response to the deal this afternoon was classy, politic & probably perfect . . .
"Bro like what! 🤣🤣🤣 Congrats to him!"
