TKC Playlist: Elite Kansas City Chiefs Leaving Fans Behind?!?

American football has long been a corporate enterprise but tonight we ask our curmudgeonly blog community a critical question . . .

WHY SHOULD KANSAS CITY FOOTBALL FANS CHEER FOR ELITISM & SUPER RICH LUXURY LIFE?!?

This season the games haven't really been that entertaining and mostly serve to promote a Kansas City Chiefs branding scheme collab with pop diva Taylor Swift.

The big picture . . .

Football has evolved . . . The game has a lot more in common with basketball nowadays following concerns about the prevalence of concussive head injuries which moved the game away from EPIC collisions and toward last second cliff-hangers geared toward busting the fortunes of compulsive gamblers.

And then . . . "For the ladies" this year seems to focus on the fortunes of WAGS and their social climbing.

And that brings us to Brit's adventures this evening . . . Take a peek:

Taylor Swift was seen heading into Minetta Tavern in New York City hours after Travis Kelce declined to comment on whether the singer would be attending the Kansas City Chiefs game versus the Miami Dolphins in Germany on Sunday.

Taylor Swift has fun with Sophie Turner, Selena Gomez and Gigi Hadid

Taylor Swift and her posse of famous friends stepped out for a girls' night in New York City on Saturday. She was joined by Selena Gomez, Sophie Turner, Gigi Hadid, and Brittany Mahomes.

Taylor Swift had an evening out with friends including Selena Gomez, Sophie Turner, Brittany Mahomes, Cara Delevingne and Gigi Hadid at Bond St restaurant in New York City on Saturday

And this brings us full circle . . .

Of course Taylor & Brit are entitled to their good life . . . The pop diva has been singing her heart out since her early teens and her concerts helped boost the American economy this Summer. We're not jelly that she owns two private planes . . . Capitalism is ridiculous but lots of fun. As for Brittany Mahomes . . . High School locker placement back in Texas sparked her rise to greatness sometime in the early 2000s . . .

However . . .

Given rising inflation, BILLION DOLLAR STADIUM FUNDING REQUESTED OF TAXPAYERS and the prospect of WWIII sometime sooner rather than later . . . Does this WAG luxury REALLY inspire local fans???

If so . . . Great.

But we have a sneaking suspicion that elite good life does very little to benefit locals and instead exposes worsening economic disparity as the American middle-class continues to fade.

And all of this inspires our www.TonysKansasCity.com playlist tonight . . .

This 80s classic seems apropos and reminds that the careers of pop divas never last forever even if Madonna is still on stage showing her naughty bits to anyone willing to watch . . .

The tragic life of Amy Winehouse seems much more captivating than anything Taylor has ever done but here at TKC we're a sucker for a sad story and Brits just make better pop music in our opinion . . .

A moment of doubt . . . This classic from Joan Jett reminds us that WAGS & music divas probably don't care what keyboard warriors think.

A look through the archives inspires us to make this cruel observation . . . Taylor Swift actually hit her musical peak 10 years ago and this performance on the BBC is the best we've ever seen from her . . . Here's another great song from that nearly lost moment . . .

Finally . . . Our Saturday night readers should know that we never pretend to understand much pertaining to the fairer sex. Nevertheless, this classic tune from 60s provides us a bit of reassurance as global elitism & and fast times still can't change fundamental truths.

As always, thanks for reading this week and have a safe & fun Saturday night.
